8 Cores / 16 Threads – Zen 5 with 3D V-Cache
Built on the Granite Ridge AM5 platform, the 9800X3D features 8 high-performance cores and 16 threads with simultaneous multithreading (SMT). The processor runs at a 4.7 GHz base clock with boost speeds reaching up to 5.2 GHz via Precision Boost 2. The massive 96MB of L3 cache (32MB on-die + 64MB 3D V-Cache stack) combined with 8MB L2 cache and 640KB L1 cache provides an enormous buffer for gaming workloads, dramatically reducing cache misses and improving frame time consistency.
Fully Unlocked – Overclock and Tune to Perfection
The 9800X3D is fully unlocked for overclocking, giving enthusiasts complete control over their system’s performance. Fine-tune memory speeds with AMD EXPO profiles, dial in per-core voltage offsets with the Curve Optimizer, push boost behavior with Precision Boost Overdrive, and manage it all through AMD Ryzen Master software.
